Alice Elizabeth Lynch Talton Thompson Wood, 86, passed away peacefully Christmas Eve, Dec. 24, 2015, while being tenderly cared for by hospice at Pruitt Town Center in Harrisburg, N.C.
Born in 1929 to parents John L. Lynch and Lena Walters Lynch, she grew up in Goldsboro, N.C.
She married Eugene Cullen Talton of Princeton, N.C., and together they raised two children, Ron and Jackie Talton, while living in Charlotte, N.C.
In her later years, after the death of her husband, Gene, she was married to Robert Thompson of Pine Level, N.C., and then to Kenneth Wood of Burlington, N.C. She was predeceased by her husbands, Gene Talton, Robert Thompson and Kenneth Wood.
She was also predeceased by her parents and three of her brothers, John Lynch, Jesse Wayne Lynch and Carroll Lynch, and three sisters, Hazel Parker, Dorothy Hussey and Virginia Cunningham.
She is survived by her son, Ron Talton and his wife, Rebecca, of Charlotte, N.C., and daughter, Jackie Cabarrus and her husband, George of Sedro Woolley, Wash.
She is also survived by her grandchildren, Beau (Jane) Talton, James (Lauren) Talton, Joseph (Lindsey) Talton, Gabriel (Tina) Cabarrus and Shelly Cabarrus Baca.
She is also survived by her brother, Gene Lynch of Suffolk, Va.; five great-grandchildren; as well as many in-laws, nieces and nephews.
She will be interred beside her husband, Gene Talton, in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery in Goldsboro, N.C. The graveside service will be private.
McEwen Funeral Service, Mint Hill Chapel, in Charlotte and Evergreen Memorial Cemetery are handling the arrangements.
