Sherman Earl Miles, 75, departed this walk of life Thursday at home.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at 1 p.m. in the chapel of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from noon to 12:45 p.m.
Mr. Miles was born Oct. 8, 1940, to the late Herman and Carline Bryant Miles.
He is survived by his loving wife, Donnie Miles; one son, Michael Miles; two daughters, Tresa Williams and husband, David, and Shernette Miles; one brother, the Rev. Shelton Miles; three sisters, Arlene Griffis and husband, Thomas, Florine Justice and husband, Albert, and Carolyn Winfrey; and six grandchildren, Leslie, Ryan, Daryl, Bryce, Adira and Miles.
The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
