Bettie Arthur Mooring Hart, Snow Hill, passed away peacefully Sunday, Dec. 27, 2015, with her family by her side.

A native of Greene County, she was born Oct. 12, 1927, the daughter of William Arthur and Bettie Moore Mooring.

Mrs. Hart was primarily a homemaker, being the mother of 10 children, helped her husband in farming, worked at J.P. Stevens Co. and was a constant caregiver to her mother for many years.

She is survived by her children, Kay Quinn (Doug), Ricky Hart (Randy), Peggy Chase (Dennis), Steve Hart, Michael Hart (Chrystal), Sherry Arnette, Terry Wilson (John) and Christy Hollingsworth (Carl); daughter-in-law, Sharon Hart; son-in-law, Harold Harper; along with 23 grandchildren and 27 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by her husband, J.B. Hart Jr.; son, Kenneth Hart; daughter, Jean Harper; great-grandson, Cameron Chase; brother, Leslie Mooring; and sisters, Bernice Hinton and Sue Marsh.

A celebration of her life will be held Thursday, Dec. 31, 2015, at
7 p.m. at Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church at 4009 Central Heights Road, Goldsboro, with the Rev. Tom Dorman and the Rev. Larry Turlington officiating.

The family will receive friends following the service and at other times, at her home at 2082 Oakdale Road, LaGrange.

A graveside service will be held Friday, Jan. 1, 2016, at 11 a.m. at Snow Hill Cemetery.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
