Billy Ray Mitchell, 75, passed away on Christmas night to be with his Savior, Jesus Christ. He left this world, with his loving Margie by his side. Billy was born in Wayne County on January 24, 1940 to the late Jesse and Georgia Potter Mitchell.
Graveside services will be held at 2 p.m. on Sunday, Dec, 27, at Daly Chapel Church Cemetery in LaGrange with the Rev. Reynolds Smith officiating. The family will receive friends at the home and immediately following the service at the cemetery.
Billy is survived by Margie of the home, his daughters, Neta Kaye Holland and husband, Glenn and Loray Ann Braxton; brothers, Jesse Mitchell and wife, Connie and Arnold Mitchell; sister, Lillie Harper and husband, Jack; grandchildren, Sandy H. Ussery and husband, Adam, Kevin R. Holland and wife, Bobbie, Cameron Holland and Jacob Barber; and three great-grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Billy was preceded in death by his wives, Edna Harper Mitchell and Grace Person Mitchell; brothers, Ernest, Milton, Grover and David Mitchell; and sisters, Annie Mitchell and Elizabeth Mitchell Aldridge.
