Lloyd Edwin Scott, 76, of Kenly passed away Sunday, Nov. 29 at Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, N.C.

A native of Wayne County, Edwin was born Nov. 24, 1939, in the Faro community. His parents were Carl Edwin Scott and Minnie Mae Howell Scott.

Edwin was graduated from Eureka High School and attended East Carolina College (now ECU). He held several jobs in his life, but his true passion was farming -- selling fresh produce in the local market.

He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Faye Pope Scott, of the home; his son, Jeffrey N. Scott of the home; his daughters, Jennifer F. Scott of Kenly, N.C., and Julie S. Edwards and husband, Bryan of Kenly, N.C.; his three grandchildren, Owen Edwards, Abram Edwards and Ivy Edwards, all of Kenly; his sister, Faye Scott Pittman and husband, Wayne of Pikeville, N.C.; his brothers, David L. Scott and wife, Pam of Surf City, N.C. and Johnnie Lucas and wife, Marie of Wilson, N.C.; his sister-in-law, Deanna C. Scott of Apex, N.C. and his aunt, Margie B. Scott of Wilson, N.C., and several cousins, nieces and nephews.

In addition to his parents, Edwin was preceded in death by a sister, Emma Carlene Scott, a brother, Alvin Scott, and a sister-in-law, Kathy Scott.

His funeral services will be held at 6 p.m. on Tuesday at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home Chapel in Fremont. A burial will be in Eureka Town Cemetery on Wednesday afternoon at 2 p.m. The Rev. Sherman Dilley will officiate.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening immediately following the service at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home and other times at the home of his daughter, Jennifer F. Scott, 4462 N.C. Hwy 222 East, Kenly, N.C.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to the following organizations: Kitty Askins Hospice Center in Goldsboro, Alzheimer's North Carolina Inc. or the Kennedy Home in Kinston, N.C.
