Ruth Hendricks Larken, 97, Goldsboro, went to be with her Lord Sunday, Nov. 22, 2015, at Willow Creek Nursing Home.

Ruth was born in Waycross, Ga., March 26, 1918, to the late John Q. Hendricks and Annie Lee Melvin Hendricks. She was married to the late Martin B. Larken and Ernest C. Littleton.

The joy of life was felt by everyone who knew her, and she showed patience and caring for the elderly as a sitter in Palm Beach County, Fla., where she lived for 55 years.

She attended the senior center on John Street for many years.

Ruth attended The Lord's Table Church until her health declined.

The family will receive friends Friday, Nov. 27, 2015, from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating her life at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with pastor Ken Jefferson officiating. Interment will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Ruth is survived by her daughters, Teena Garcia of Goldsboro and Evelyn Pedrick of Cartersville, Ga.; eight grandchildren; two great-grandchildren; and four great-great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husbands and parents, she was preceded in death by a daughter, Yvonne Martini.

The family would like to thank the staff at Willow Creek Rehab Center, Hospice and a very special friend and caregiver, Judy McElmurry for the loving care given to our loved one.
