Patrick Simon Bowen, 79, Winterville, passed away Oct. 31, 2015, at Vidant Medical Center.
He was born Feb. 6, 1936, in Pitt County to the late Jasper and Verna Rouse Bowen.
He was preceded in death by his parents; a son, Tommy Bowen; his former wife, Patricia Coward; three sisters, Hazel Norris, Mildred Mitchell and Rebecca Hall; and three brothers, Jasper, Willis and Thomas Bowen.
Patrick graduated from Pitt Community College with a degree in drafting, and worked for some time at E.I. DuPont. He was self-employed for the last 20 years.
He was a member of St. Delight Original Free Will Baptist Church.
He leaves behind to cherish his memory a daughter, Cindy Hulon and husband, Buddy, of Greenville; a sister, Faye Weeks of Goldsboro; a grandson, Eric Hulon; and two stepgrandchildren, Stephanie Heath and Crystal Anthony.
Funeral service will be held Wednesday, Nov. 4, 2015, at 2 p.m. at Farmer Funeral Service chapel.
The family will receive friends prior to the service from 1 to 2 p.m. at the funeral home.
Burial will follow in Ayden Cemetery.
