Mary Emma Medlin West, 89, Goldsboro, passed away Thursday, Oct. 15, 2015, at the Brian Center.

Mrs. West was born in Wilson County Nov. 13, 1925, to the late Charlie and Sarah Clayton Medlin. She was married to the late Charles Perry West.

Mrs. West will be remembered for her unconditional love as a wife, mother and grandmother.

So, too, will she be remembered for her compassionate spirit and soul and her gift of finding joy in working with her flowers and in her garden.

Family was paramount to her, and she loved nothing more than her husband, her children and grandchildren. She was the embodiment of love as we have been taught by our savior, Christ Jesus.

The family will receive friends Sunday, Oct. 18, 2015, from 2 to 3 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating her life at 3 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Allen Strickland officiating. Interment will be in Wayne Memorial Park.

Mrs. West is survived by her son, Ronnie Glenn West and wife, Jackie, of Pikeville; daughter, Connie Talton of Pikeville; son-in-law, Roy Smith of Pikeville; grandchildren, Roy Smith, Melissa Smith, Randy West, Tammy Baker, Joseph Talton, Corey Little and Shannon Alan Zentz; and 14 great-grandchildren.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by her daughters, Betty Smith and Linda McCleod.
