Mr. Mark Wayne Rickman, 68, resident of Oak Ridge community near Mount Olive, died Thursday afternoon, Oct. 8, 2015, at Vidant Pitt Medical Center in Greenville following a home accident.
A service of remembrance will be held Saturday, Oct. 17, at 2:30 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with visitation to follow.
He had served in the United States Army, discharged with the rank of sergeant first class, following disability retirement.
He is survived by his wife, Catherine J. Rickman of the home; his mother, Helen S. Sample of Lawton, Okla.; a daughter and son-in-law, Lynnette Hadder and Stephen Hadder of Jacksonville, N.C.; a son, Bryan Rickman of Joplin, Mo.; a daughter-in-law, Elizabeth Rickman of Medenie, La.; six grandchildren, Sai Fon Hadder, Athena Hadder, Joey Hadder, Isaac Hadder, Alicia Rickman and Brittney Rickman; four great-grandchildren; a brother and sister-in-law, Paul and Bonnie Rickman of Traverse City, Mich.; and their families.
He was preceded in death by his father, Howard Taft Rickman, and a nine-day-old infant brother, Larry Rickman.
