Thomas Earl Danihel Jr., 66, Goldsboro, passed away Sunday, Sept. 27, 2015, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

A memorial service will be held at a later date at Eastern Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Goldsboro with full military honors.

Thomas was born in Chicago, Ill., July 11, 1949, to the late Thomas Danihel Sr. and Marianne Ruduloph Danihel.

Thomas retired as a chief master sergeant with the munitions maintenance division after 28 years of service.

He also had a love for motorcycles, and enjoyed riding with his friends as often as he could.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Kay Danihel; one stepson, Jason Call and wife, Margie, of Pikeville; one stepdaughter, Melissa Melvin and husband, Eddie, of Goldsboro; one brother, Ron Danihel and wife, Dolores, of Lemont, Ill.; five stepgrandchildren, Jordan, Kayla, Hannah, Nik, Hailey and best friends, Wendell "Woody" Wood and wife, Cassy, of Goldsboro and Clifford Keck of Goldsboro; and several nieces, nephews and close friends.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be directed to Wayne County Motorcycle Riders Toy Run c/o Cassy Wood, 108 Twin Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534, or Bikers for Christ, Wayne County chapter, P.O. Box 3082, Eureka, N.C., 27830.

The family is in the care of Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
