MARY E. BURGESS
June 14, 1931-June 21, 2015
Mary Elizabeth Norman Burgess, 84, died Sunday at home.
She was born in Carlisle, W.Va., to the late Paul Ralph and Elizabeth Conley Norman and was married to the late William Lee Burgess Sr.
She was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church, where she attended the Johnny Sasser Sunday School Class and was a past church treasurer.
A funeral service will be held Wednesday evening at 6 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating.
The family will receive friends immediately following the service.
A graveside service will be held Thursday at 11 a.m. at Wayne Memorial Park Mausoleum.
She is survived by two sons and daughter-in-law, William L. Jr. and Nancy Burgess of Rockville, Md., and Rick Burgess of Mount Olive; three grandchildren, Brittney Lee Burgess Duignan, Joshua William Burgess and Matthew Douglas Burgess; and one great-grandchild on the way.
In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial contributions be made to Emmaus Baptist Church, 714 Emmaus Church Road, Dudley N.C. 28333.
