Eleanor Carol Herring, 71, known to most as Tootsie, passed away Wednesday night, March 18, 2015, at the home of her daughter and son-in-law.

A native of the Seven Springs area, she had made her home in the Scott's Store/White Flash community for the last number of years.

Services will be held Saturday, March 21 at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, followed by visitation.

Burial will be Sunday, March 22 at 2 p.m. at Daly's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church Cemetery at Liddell near Seven Springs.

She is survived by a daughter and son-in-law, Amelia B. and Thomas Blizzard, with whom she had lived in recent months; a sister, Rose Herring Jones of Seven Springs; two grandsons and their families, Seth Blizzard, his wife, Elana, and their daughters, Ivey and Emma, of Mount Olive, and Michael Boyette, his wife, Tiffany, and their children, Lillian and Chandler, of Ft. Pierce, Fla.; and several nieces and nephews and their families.

Those preceding her in death include her son, Jerry Dean Boyette; a sister, Ramona Herring Nottage; and her parents, Jerry and Annie Lee Howell Herring.

Ms. Herring was a lifelong member of Daly's Chapel Free Will Baptist Church, and her working career included employment at Cashwell Center in Kinston, D.M. Price's Store and Guilford East at Kenansville.

The family wishes to express sincere gratitude to the Community Health Care and Hospice team for their splendid care and support offered to Ms. Herring during her last months of illness.

Arrangements are by Tyndall Funeral Home.
