In addition, he is survived by granddaughters, Katherine Frances Anderson of Raleigh and Rebecca Anderson Farlow of Pasadena, Calif.

He is also survived by numerous nieces and nephews.

Mr. Anderson was born in Wayne County to Celia Beasley Anderson and Robert Edward Lee Anderson on April 14, 1924.

He was preceded in death by his wife of 60 years, Essie Mae Jones Anderson.

He was also preceded in death by his sisters, Nora Smith, Susan Virginia Spencer, Mildred Lee Singleton and Edna Rose Blackmon.

Mr. Anderson was a proud veteran of WWII, having fought in the Battle of the Bulge.

He worked for more than 20 years with Franklin Baking Co. in Goldsboro as a route salesman.

He later, very successfully, ran tool businesses for Snap-On and Mack's.

From a personal view, he never met a stranger.

He enjoyed people, and people enjoyed him. He will be missed as a person who always looked for ways to have fun in life.
