ROSE M. COLE
Aug. 23, 1934-March 11, 2015
Rose M. Cole, Carolina Beach, died Wednesday, March 11, 2015, at her residence.
She was born in Wilmington Aug. 23 1934, the daughter of the late Arthur Farrow and Effie George Farrow.
She was preceded in death by a daughter, Madeline Lynn Cole; a brother Arthur Farrow Jr.; and sisters, Lois Hardin and Agnes Vincent.
Rose was born and raised in the Masonboro Sound area.
She had worked as a volunteer at the polls for many years in Carolina Beach.
She retired from Goldsboro Pediatrics, and then worked at the Children's Clinic in Wilmington.
Rose enjoyed golfing and bowling, and loved to dance, especially the shag. She was happiest when the family gathered at the pool and taking long walks to Ocean Grill and Tiki Bar.
She is survived by her husband of 55 years, Robert Cecil Cole Sr.; her daughter, Adrienne Cole Kratzer and husband, Carroll, of Raleigh, N.C.; son, Robert Cecil Cole Jr. and wife, Susan, of Carolina Beach; eight grandchildren, Jennifer Peake, Amanda Greene, Kathryn Kratzer, Cole Kratzer, Brittany Vangritis, Chelsea Cole, Bobby Benson and James Benson; seven great-grandchildren; a sister, Ann Strom; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends Thursday evening, March 12, 2015, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Andrews Valley chapel.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Friday at Andrews Valley chapel.
Burial services will be held Monday, March 16, 2015, at noon at Coastal Carolina State Veterans Cemetery in Jacksonville.
