NELLE MELTON LOVELL

Nelle Melton Lovell died Saturday, Dec. 13, 2014, at Sunrise at North Hills Assisted Living Center in Raleigh.
Born Jan. 10, 1921 in Birmingham, Ala., Nelle grew up in Tallassee, Ala., and after high school, attended Saint Margaret's Nursing School obtaining her R.N. with the class of 1942.
She married Morris Lovell in 1943, and they remained in Goldsboro after he retired from the Air Force.
Nelle is survived by her children, Andrea Trinidad, Chip Lovell and wife, Debbie, Shelley Lovell and Katy Gesteland; grandchildren, Doug Shafer, Hayley Buchanan, Finn and Eli Gesteland; her siblings, Blenda Lushington, Joe Melton and Dan Melton.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Morris, and sisters, Julia Zannini and Marguerite Gauntt.
Nelle requested we say a special thank you and good-bye to her church family at St. Luke's United Methodist in Goldsboro and to her kind neighbors in Mimosa Park.
The family would like to thank her caregivers at Sunrise and the wonderful people at Transitions Life Care (Hospice of Wake County), as well as a special thank you to Shannon and Alice.
Mom, we will love you forever and miss you always -- thank you for everything.
The body was cremated, and a graveside service will be held at a later date.
