Frances Kennedy Wood, 94, Mount Olive resident, passed away early Wednesday morning, Dec. 3, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.
Funeral services, held by the graveside, will be at 2 p.m. Saturday, Dec. 6, at Wayne Memorial Park, officiated by Dr. Dennis Atwood.
Family and friends may call at the residence, 701 Steele St. in Mount Olive, from 5 to 7 p.m. Friday, Dec. 5.
Mrs. Wood, widow of Ottis Wood, was a member of Mount Olive's First Baptist Church.
She was a native of Alabama, the daughter of the late James and Tensie Caroline Bobo Kennedy.
She is survived by two daughters, Dorothy W. Eason of the home and Donna W. Berkeley and husband, Arch, of Virginia; a daughter-in-law, Mary Bozart of Charlotte; a sister, Elvia Lou Stidham of Alabama; three grandchildren, Brian Wood, Michael Wood and Matthew Dumas; four great-grandchildren; and two great-great-grandchildren.
Along with her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Wood; a grandson, Jeffrey Wood; and a son-in-law, Reid Eason.
In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be made to First Baptist Church, P.O. Box 203, Mount Olive, 28365.
