ARTHUR RAY 'ART' KORNEGAY

Arthur Ray Kornegay "Art," 64, Goldsboro, passed away Wednesday, Dec. 3, 2014, at his home surrounded by his family.

Arthur was born in Wayne County Jan. 1, 1950, to the late Gump and Lillie Holloman Kornegay.

He had worked with Cooper Standard in Goldsboro.

Arthur was a man of many talents from being passionate about fishing to racing go carts to working on any type of car.

Arthur attended Grants Chapel Church.

The family will receive friends Saturday, Dec. 6, 2014, from 10 to 11 a.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service celebrating Arthur's life at 11 a.m., with Bill Garner officiating. Interment will follow in Pineview Cemetery.

Arthur is survived by his wife, Margaret Brown Kornegay; son, Michael Kornegay and wife, Buffie, of Mount Olive; brothers, Tommy Kornegay and girlfriend, Angie Blake, of Jacksonville and Milton Kornegay and wife, Dianne, of Goldsboro; sister, Beverly Pollock and husband, Morris, of Pikeville; and grandchildren, Caleb Rogers, Daylan Kornegay and Matthew Kornegay.

He is also survived by his K-9 friend, Spanky.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his sister, Linda Dianne Kornegay, and brother, William Bryce Kornegay.

The family would like to give a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Home Health and Hospice for the love and care it provided for Arthur during his final days. Simple words cannot express our gratitude.

Also a thank you to the staff at Southeastern Medical Oncology Center and the Fourth Floor Nursing Staff at Wayne Memorial Hospital, who cared for Arthur over these past few months.
