Mrs. Eva Holmes Brock, 93, resident of the Brock's Chapel community, Mount Olive, went to be with her Lord and Saviour Wednesday, Nov. 12, 2014, after having been blessed with long life of 93 years.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, Nov. 15, at 2 p.m. at Brock's Chapel Church with the Rev. James Earl Herring officiating, followed by burial in the Pate cemetery. Visitation will be at Tyndall Funeral Home from 6 to 8 p.m. Friday, Nov. 14. Family and friends are also being received at the Buddy Brock residence.

Daughter of the late Alva "Abb" and Mary Owens Holmes, she was one of eleven children. The widow of Currie Brock, she was a member of Brock's Chapel Church where, in her more healthy years, she faithfully worshipped and served. Along with her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by a son, Jimmy Brock; two grandsons, Larry Moody and Jeff Brock; a great-great-grandchild; and seven of her siblings.

Her surviving family includes her daughter, Marlene B. Moody; two sons and daughters-in-law, Buddy and Margaret Brock and Curt and Janice Brock, all of the Brock's Chapel community; eleven grandchildren, Karen Faye M. Bennett and Ronnie Brock, both of Mount Olive, Terry Moody of Buies Creek, Tommy Brock, Connie B. Lupton, Mike Moody and Curtis Brock, Craig Brock, all of Mount Olive, Kim Moody of Butner, and Lisa B. Deaver and Teresa B. Waters of Mount Olive; 27 great-grandchildren; 13-great-great-grandchildren; two sisters, Haddie H. Brock of Mount Olive and Lucille H. Winders of Rocky Mount; a brother, Lin Holmes of Mount Olive; three sisters-in-law, Clara Belle Holmes and Jean Holmes Horne, both of Mount Olive, and Lillie Holmes of Goldsboro; and many nieces and nephews.
