Athia White Parrish, 91, Goldsboro, passed away Monday, Nov. 3, 2014, at the Brian Center.

Athia was born in Johnston County June 21, 1923, to the late Charles S. White and Mary Alma Creech White. She was married to the late Ernest D. Parrish.

Athia retired from Borden Manufacturing Co., and was a former member of Clingman Street Church of God.

Graveside services will be held at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Nov. 5, 2014, at Oakland Heights Cemetery in Smithfield, with the Rev. Joseph Leonard officiating.

Athia is survived by her daughter, Sue Lupton of Goldsboro; son, George S. Parrish of Goldsboro; sister, Louise Ham of Goldsboro; half-sister, Grace Eason Muserella of New Jersey; three grandchildren, Kenneth "Ken" Lupton, Dena G. Parrish and Sonya L. Jennette; and four great-grandchildren, Connor, Mackenzie, Jayson and Joshua.

In addition to her husband and parents, Athia was preceded in death by her grandson, Kevin Lupton.

The family will receive friends Tuesday, Nov. 4, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.
