DOROTHY CLEMMONS SUMMERLIN

Feb. 3, 1947-July 29, 2014

Dorothy Clemmons Summerlin, 67, Goldsboro, passed away Tuesday at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville surrounded by her family and friends.

A native of Greene County, she was the daughter of the late Carl and Maebelle Clemmons, and the widow of Jimmy Summerlin.

Dorothy was retired from R.N. Rouse, and was past president of the ABWA.

She is survived by her sister, Margaret Jones and husband, Ben, of LaGrange; special nephew, Tony Jones of Fort Lauderdale, Fla.; brother, Harold Clemmons of Saratoga; close personal friend, Andy McClenny; and 15 nieces and nephews.

In addition to her parents and husband, she was preceded in death by her brothers, Thurman Clemmons, Rudy Kearney and Earl Clemmons.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be made to Autism Society of North Carolina, 505 Oberlin Road, Raleigh, N.C., 27605-1345.

The family will receive friends Thursday, July 31, 2014, from 6 to 8 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home and at other times, at her residence.

A graveside service to celebrate her life will be at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 1, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Park, with the Rev. Lonnie Humphrey officiating.
