Carl Benjamin Williams, 82, New Bern, died Monday, July 28, 2014, at his residence.
Ben had served in the National Guard during the Korean conflict.
He retired from Sprint Telephone Co., where he was marketing manager.
He was a member of Beech Grove United Methodist Church, Order of the Elks, Eastern Carolina Yacht Club and New Bern Yacht Club, and loved to play racquet ball at Courts Plus.
Ben is survived by his wife, Brenda Brown Williams; daughter, Susan Williams Allen and husband, Gene, of Atlanta; son, Hunter Williams and wife, Susan, of New Bern; five grandchildren, Josh Williams (Katy Mac), Sarah Burnette (Alex), Jake Williams, Hunter Allen and Sam Allen; and two great-grandchildren, Peyton Williams and Mason Williams.
Memorial service will be 3 p.m. Saturday, Aug. 2, at Beech Grove United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Connie Stutts officiating, followed by a celebration life at 5 p.m. Eastern Carolina Yacht Club.
