VERA HUBER WILSON

Dec. 19, 1945-July 5, 2014

Vera Huber Wilson, 68, passed away on Saturday, July 5, 2014 at her home surrounded by her loving family.

Vera was born in Greene County on Dec. 19, 1945, to the late Sidney and Virginia Ham Huber. Vera had worked for many years as a special education teacher in the public school system. She was a member of New Hope Friends Meeting. Vera enjoyed working in her yard and took great pride in her fish pond. During her sickness she spent countless hours praising her Lord and Savior through gospel music she would listen to. Although Vera leaves a vacant place in our hearts, we know she truly earned her special place in heaven. Vera will always be remembered as a loyal woman of faith, love and respect for everyone who touched her life. The best of Vera will live on in each of us.

Funeral services will be held at 5 p.m. today at New Hope Friends Meeting with Bill Garner officiating. Interment will be on Monday at 11 a.m. at the Wilson Ivy Cemetery.

Vera is survived by her loving husband of 44 years, Regis Wilson; daughter, Suzanne Rose and husband, Rusty of Goldsboro; son, Ashley Wilson and wife, Jamie of Goldsboro; brother, Donald Huber and wife, Sandra of Snow Hill; sister-in-law, Marie Huber of Manteo; grandchildren, Braxton Rose, Sydney Rose and Kennedy Grace Wilson; and one of her very best friends and special companion, Kiki, that stayed by her side.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Willie "Boogie" Huber.

Although flowers are welcome, memorials may be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C. 27534.

The family will receive friends following the service on Sunday and at other times at her home.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
