Danny Ray Overman, 65, Goldsboro, peacefully passed away Wednesday, July 2, 2014.
Danny was born in Princeton Dec. 16, 1948, to the late William Overman and Letha Willoughby Overman.
Danny enjoyed working with his hands, and was a retired carpenter.
Danny loved tending to his garden, NASCAR, cooking and telling a good joke.
A memorial service will be held Friday, July 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. at St. John Free Will Baptist Church, with pastor Kenneth Stevens officiating.
Danny is survived by his wife of 27 years, Robin Daly; three children, Bobbie J. Shirley of Middlesex, Bridget C. Mozingo of Selma and Danny P. Overman of Smithfield; stepchild, Cameron Yones of Goldsboro; brother, Jerry Overman; sister, Effie Crownover; and 12 grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, Danny was preceded in death by six siblings, Paul Overman Sr., Clifton Overman, Smithie Denning, Fannie Howell, Lois Overman and Bill Joe Overman.
Danny's family will receive friends Friday following the memorial service, and at other times, will be at the home.
