Conkistia Sharmee´ "Pooday" McCuller, 38, won her battle with cancer, and went to be with her Lord and savior Monday evening, June 30, 2014, at Wayne Memorial Hospital surrounded by her family.

A homegoing service to celebrate her life will be held Saturday, July 5, 2014, at 2 p.m. at Greater Guiding Star United Holy Church in Goldsboro. Interment will follow at Wayne Memorial Park in Dudley.

Pooday, as she was known by, was born in Wayne County Dec. 9, 1975.

She was an outstanding preschool teacher at Guiding with Care Daycare in Goldsboro.

Sharmee´ was past employed with More at 4 Program, Wages and Small World in Goldsboro.

Sharmee´ was a believer and a member of Gospel Tabernacle in Fremont.

Sharmee´ leaves to cherish her memories her husband, Thurman McCuller Jr.; her two boys, James "Jaison" Roach and Christian Josial McCuller both of the home; her mother, minister Bessie Carolyn Howell and husband, Robert Lee, of Goldsboro; her father, Ray Sasser of Goldsboro; two brothers, Ray Sasser Jr. and wife, Tonya, of Goldsboro and Ronyell Sasser of Goldsboro; her sister, Carlentina Whitfield of Goldsboro; her father and mother-in-law, Bishop Thurman McCuller Sr. and Deborah Ann of Goldsboro; her maternal grandmother, Jessie Marie Faison of Goldsboro; and a host of nieces, nephews, close friends, co-workers and other relatives and friends.

Sharmee´ was preceded in death by her maternal grandfather, J.C. Faison, and paternal grandmother, missionary Nora Sasser.

A visitation will be held Friday, July 4, 2014, from 4 to 7 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro. The family will be present from 6 to 7 p.m. and receive friends other times at the home of her mother, minister Bessie Carolyn Howell, 127 Eastern Place in Goldsboro or at "Pooday's" home, 720 National Drive in Goldsboro.
