Terry Albertus Williams, 69, peacefully passed away Monday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Born in Wayne County, he was the son of the late Robert Alexander Williams and Mary Lois Westbrook Williams, and father of the late Terry "Tee" Albertus Williams Jr.

He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and retired from CP&L.

Terry was a member and deacon at Jordan's Chapel Baptist Church.

Terry was a devoted daddy to his children and a loving "Papa T" to his grandchildren.

An avid musician, Terry enjoyed singing and playing both the guitar and piano.

He was a beloved friend and mentor, and will be greatly missed by many.

A service to celebrate his life will be held Thursday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home chapel, with the Rev. Ray Smeltzer officiating. Burial will follow in Willowdale Cemetery.

Family members will greet friends Wednesday evening from 6 to 8 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, and at other times, will be at the home.

Mr. Williams is survived by his daughters and sons-in-law, Roni and Carmen Ganoe of Apex, Heather and Mark Coley of Calabash, N.C., and Jennifer and Jon Player of Chapel Hill; his siblings, Bobby R. Williams, Doris Williams Hood and Edward Williams; his grandchildren, Teagan Coley, Macie Ellen Coley, Cayson Coley, Winston Player and Fletcher Player; two stepgrandchildren, Devin Ganoe and Damian Ganoe; and the mother of his children and longtime friend, Shirley Williams.
