RENA BALLANCE FAIRCLOTH

Rena Ballance Faircloth, 77, peacefully passed away May 30, 2014, with her family by her side.

She was born Aug. 15, 1936, in Wayne County, N.C., to Betty Clyde Pittman-Ballance and James Howard Ballance.

Rena was known for her love of cooking, softball and Carolina basketball.

She was a member of Union Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church.

Until retirement, she was a dedicated employee at Cooper Standard Products.

In 2012, she became a resident of Emeritus at The Pines in Goldsboro, N.C., where she made so many friends and loved engaging in all the activities there with them.

Rena is survived by two sons, Doug Faircloth of Wilson, N.C., and Charles Faircloth and wife, Lisa, of Stantonsburg, N.C.

She was a loving grandmother to five grandchildren, Tonya Tart and husband, Josh, of Snow Hill, N.C., Heather Weaver and husband, Wesley, of Seven Springs, N.C., Christina Parrish of Benson, N.C., and Danielle Faircloth and Chase Faircloth of Pikeville, N.C.; sisters, Ruby Buck of Fremont, N.C., and Myrtle Braswell of Salisbury, N.C.; brother-in-law, Bobby Faircloth and wife, Geraldine, of Durham, N.C.; and six great-grandchildren, J.C. Toler, Chelsea Toler, Josh Weaver, Hannah Weaver, Elijah Parrish and Anna Mae Parrish.

She was the beloved "Aunt Rener" to many nieces and nephews.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Billy Ray Faircloth; her parents; and siblings, Edgar Ballance, Willard Ballance, Odell Ballance, Melvin Ballance, Alvestor Ballance and Elbert Ballance.

Her funeral service will be held at 10 a.m. Thursday, June 5, 2104, at Shackleford--Howell Funeral Home in Fremont, officiated by the Rev. Richard Glosson. Burial will follow at Ballance Family Cemetery on Benton Pond Road, Fremont, N.C.

The family will receive friends from 7 to 8:30 p.m. Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home.

Flowers and memorials can be sent to Shackleford-Howell Funeral Home, 102 N. Pine St., Fremont, N.C., 27830, who is serving the family.

Repast for the family will be provided at Union Grove Original Free Will Baptist Church, 1283 Union Grove Church Road, Fremont, N.C., Wednesday at 4 p.m.

The family would like to express its gratitude to the palliative care doctors, nurses and staff at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, N.C., for all the loving care given to her and the family.
