Christie Williamson Carlyle, 60, Kinston, peacefully passed away Sunday, June 1, 2014.

Christie was born April 4, 1954, in Wayne County to Benjamin Carlyle Williamson of Kinston and the late Christine Lokey Turnage.

Christie's life revolved around her family. She was devoted and supportive of her husband, Wayne. Her most significant role in life, and what she did best, was being a loving wife, mother and nana.

Christie loved working in her yard, and decorating for Christmas was a annual highlight. She enjoyed classic movies, crochet, the beach and video games, and was always ready for the next shopping adventure.

A graveside service of remembrance will be held Wednesday, June 4, 2014, at 11 a.m. at Fairview Cemetery, with the Rev. Ronnie Hobgood officiating.

In addition to her father, Christie is survived by her soul mate and husband of 28 years, Wayne Carlyle; three daughters, Crissy Lynn Rouse and husband, Reid, of LaGrange, Lori Renee' Kelly and husband, Chris, of Seven Springs and Melissa Ann Jones of LaGrange; seven precious grandchildren, Jesica Kelly, Bradley Jones, Will Kelly, MaKayla Jones, Channing Rouse, Everett Rouse and Baby Jackson; sister, Frances Jordan of Fremont; brother, John Williamson of Dudley, sister-in-law, Debbie Williamson of Goldsboro; son-in-law, Kevin Jones of Ayden; along with a number of nieces and nephews.

In addition to her mother, Christie was preceded in death by a sister, Sally Jo Williamson, and a brother, Benjamin Carlyle Williamson Jr.

The family will receive friends Wednesday following the graveside service, and at other times, will be at the home of Mr. and Mrs. Royce Holmes, 401 Lake Pines Drive, LaGrange.

Christie's family would like to extend a special thank you to the Dr. Misbah Qadir, Sherry Smith, Lisa Shirey, Lenoir Memorial 4West nursing staff, Christie's health care partners, "the transport boys," Steve and Tim, and all support staff for their loving care and support.
