MOLLIE ELMORE TART

Mollie E. Tart, 88, died early Saturday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center.

Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late James Franklin and Julia Kennedy Elmore, and was the wife of Selva J. Tart, whom she had been married to for 63 years.

A service to celebrate Mollie's life will be held Monday at 11 a.m. in the chapel of Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home, with the Rev. Pete Radford officiating. Burial will follow at Wayne Memorial Park.

Family members will greet friends one hour prior to the service at the funeral home and at other times, at the home.

Mollie had been a resident of Wayne County all of her life, and was a member of Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church, where she was one of the founding members of the church's harvest sale.

In addition to her husband, she is survived by a son and his special friend, Don Alan Tart and Karen Jones of Ball Ground, Ga.; two daughters and a son-in-law, Jean Tart Rea of Charlotte and Rick and Ann Tart Plumley of Goldsboro; a brother, Patrick Elmore of Tate, Ga.; and three grandchildren, Dana Wadsworth-Strole, Clark Rea and Blake Rea.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Black Jack Free Will Baptist Church, 341 Black Jack Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
