Mrs. Barbara Coley Jackson, 63, lovingly known by her family and friends as "B.J.," 5791 University Club Blvd., Apt. 207, Jacksonville, Fla., formerly of Goldsboro, N.C., departed her earthly life Friday, April 18, 2014, at The McGraw Center in Jacksonville, Fla.

Barbara was born in Wayne County Nov. 15, 1950. She was born to late Mrs. Julia Yelverton Coley and Mr. Roscoe Coley.

She received her education in the public school system of Wayne County, and graduated from Goldsboro High School in the class of 1970.

After graduation, "B.J." was employed with AP Parts for 14 years and as a security officer for Neuse Correctional Institution in Goldsboro, N.C., for more than 10 years.

She received her personal savior at Saint Luke Church of Christ, Goldsboro, N.C.

Barbara was preceded in death by her sister, Brenda Coley Copeland, and her brothers, Thurman Coley, Robert Coley and Ralphael Coley.

Memorial service will be conducted Friday, April 25, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Apostle D. L. McIntyre Memorial Chapel, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C. Pastor Thelma Davis will officiate.

The family will travel to the state of Virginia to complete "Mrs. B.J.'s" final journey and her wishes.

Mrs. Jackson leaves to cherish her loving and precious memories to her daughters, Kwinette Jackson of Goldsboro, N.C.; and retired MAC Yvette Jackson and Kimberly Eason both of Jacksonville, Fla.; two grandchildren, Corey Dickerson and Treana Newsome both of Goldsboro, N.C.; two brothers, James Coley (Wanda) of Goldsboro, N.C., and Freddie Coley (Rita) of Tampa, Fla.; seven nephews, Tomarcus Coley, Kiapo, Christopher and Kenneth Copeland all of Goldsboro, N.C., Tramarcius Coley (United States Navy) of Hampton Va., Freddie Coley Jr. and Derek Coley of Tampa, Fla.; a goddaughter, Cieara Thompson; and a host of uncles, aunts, other relatives and friends.

At other times, the family will receive friends and other family members at the residence of Ms. Kwinette Jackson, 125 Fallin Blvd., Apt. B6, Goldsboro, N.C.

Friday, April 25, 2014, the family and friends will assemble at McIntyre Funeral Home, 900 S. George St., Goldsboro, N.C., at 10:30 a.m. in preparation for the memorial service.
