ELKE KLEBER

March 15, 1942 - April 13, 2014

Elke Kleber died early Palm Sunday morning at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

She was born in Laurenberg-Pommern, Germany on March 15, 1942 to the late Ernesto and Ilse Maslo. She was married to Col. Raymond Kleber USAF Retired. She is survived by a daughter, Tatjana Witzmann and her sister, Hannelore.

Elke was an excellent student who loved to study history and weather. She excelled in sports and specialized in Gymnastics. She loved tennis and was an avid participant in the sport. Elke was also an excellent self-taught cook and turned out gourmet meals to please any appetite.

Her father was a glider Instructor and at an early age she flew the SG-38, a bungee launched Primary trainer and later flew the Rhoenlerche earning her A, B and C licenses.

A Mass of Christian Burial will be held at 11 a.m. on Tuesday, April 22, 2014 at Seymour Johnson Air Force Base Chapel. She will be buried in Arlington National Cemetery at a later date.
