LADISLAW PETER JR.

LADISLAW PETER JR.

Ladislaw (Les) Peter, Jr. of Goldsboro suffered a massive heart attack late Sunday evening and passed away at Wayne Memorial Hospital. He had recently celebrated his 41st birthday on March 2.

Les was an active and devoted member of St. Mary's Church in Goldsboro. While he had developmental disabilities and mental illness, he was loved by many in Goldsboro, his lifetime home. He was a special man whose kindness and innocence will be missed by all.

He is survived by his sister, Caroline Peter of Pittsboro, N.C.; his best friend of over 20 years and housemate, Roger Norris of Goldsboro; his maternal uncles, Carlyle Taylor of Cumming, Georgia and Alton Delphin (A.D.) Taylor, Jr. of Currituck, N.C. He is also survived by his cousins, Bethany, Brooke, Del (A.D., III), Jill, Kennedy, Kyle, Ricci and Richard. He was preceded in death by his father Dr. Ladislaw (Laszlo) Peter Sr. in April 1984, and his mother, Irene Taylor Peter in Feb. 1995.

The services planned for those who wish to celebrate Les' life and to pay final respects are at a wake service at Seymour Funeral Home in Goldsboro beginning at 6 p.m. today followed by a time of visitation until 8 p.m. Funeral mass will be held on Thursday at 1 p.m. at St. Mary's Church. Rather than have a graveside service, his final wish was to be cremated and buried at Willow Dale Cemetery in Goldsboro alongside his father at a future date.

Rather than flowers, the family would appreciate donations be made to The Foundation for Hope of Raleigh, an organization that raises money for mental illness research and treatment or an animal rescue organization of your choice, such as the Friends of Rowan County Animal Shelter or the Goathouse Refuge of Pittsboro, N.C. or St. Mary Roman Catholic Church, Family Life Center, 1000 N. Jefferson Avenue, Goldsboro, N.C. 27530.

Online condolences may be sent to the family at www.seymourfuneralhome.com.
