Freeman Sr., 86, Princeton, died Wednesday, March 26, 2014.
Mr. Freeman was born July 29, 1927, and was the son of the late Josh Joseph Freeman and Lena Watson Freeman.
He was also preceded in death by brothers, Howard Freeman, Carl Freeman, Ted Freeman and Virgil Freeman; sisters, Betty Mowery, Mary Helen Wieler and Virgie Stinnett; and grandsons, Jason Starling, Sgt. Donald E. Nelson of the United States Marine Corps and Chaos Causin.
He was referred to as "Wonderful Dancer"; he had danced to many of the big bands, including Tommy Dorsey, Frank Sinatra and Dean Martin, at the Pacific Palisades.
He was always open to new adventures, and loved raccoon hunting.
He and his brothers were early stock car racers in California, and he loved flying, was a talented mechanic and enjoyed restoring antique vehicles.
The funeral service will be conducted at 3 p.m. Saturday, March 29, in the chapel of Casey Funeral Home. Burial will be in Princeton Cemetery.
He is survived by sons, Edward Thomas Freeman Jr. of Pikeville and Howard Dee Freeman of Princeton; daughters, Bettie Anne Nelson of Morgan Hill, Calif., Catherine Krumlauf of Rockbridge, Ohio, Diana Freeman of Princeton, Mona F Sears of Whitewright, Texas, Carol Jean Starling of Princeton and Judy Shirley of Wilson; five brothers; two sisters; 26 grandchildren; and 36 great-grandchildren.
The family will receive friends beginning at 1:30 p.m. to 3 p.m. Saturday, March 29.
