PIKEVILLE -- Raymond Clifford Gray Sr., 85, passed away Sunday, Feb. 2, 2014, at his home.
Raymond was born in Lenoir County Nov. 10, 1928, to the late Stephen Willie Gray and Gaynell Vause Gray.
He retired from Universal Leaf Tobacco Co.
Raymond was a member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, where he enjoyed being a member of the Prime Timers and the Friendship Sunday school class.
Funeral services will be held at 2 p.m. Wednesday, Feb. 5, 2014, at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Barry Williamson officiating.
The family will greet friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.
Interment will be Thursday, Feb. 6, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Raymond is survived by his wife of 65 years, Nona Best Gray; daughter, Darla Gray Raper (Alan) of Wilson; sons, Cliff Gray (Dianne) of Goldsboro, Steve Gray (Debbie) of Fremont and Jeff Gray (Delores) of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Jennifer Johnson (Kevin), Stephanie Lane (Michael), Ryan Gray (Stephanie), Hy Gardner (Clay), Berry Gray (Crystal), Christopher Gray (Amanda), Sarah Beth Harris (Adam), Brandon Raper, Colby Raper, Taylor Gray and Marianna Gray; and 16 great-grandchildren.
In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in his memory to Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, 752 Stoney Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
