Zilphia Stallings Grice, 93, died Monday evening, Jan. 27, 2014, in Wayne Memorial Hospital.

Born Sept. 29, 1920, in Johnston County to the late John and Nettie Jones Stallings, she was the widow of William Batten Grice, who died in 1993.

She was a retired spinner with Borden Textiles, and a member of Westwood United Methodist Church in Goldsboro.

Funeral services will be conducted Friday at 6 p.m. at Westwood United Methodist Church, with the Rev. Rufus Butner and the Rev. David Karn officiating.

The family will receive friends immediately following the service in the fellowship hall.

The burial service will take place Saturday at 11 a.m. in the Princeton Cemetery.

Surviving are her children, William Grice Jr. and wife, Rose, Carolyn Jernigan and husband, Kirby, and Keith A. Grice and wife, Joyce, all of Goldsboro; 10 grandchildren; and 19 great-grandchildren.

She was preceded in death by five brothers and two sisters.

In lieu of flowers, the family asks that memorial contributions be made to either Pennies from Angels, P.O. Box 511, Black Creek, N.C., 27813, or Westwood United Methodist Church, 130 Short St., Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.
