Keith Donald Rhodes, 81, died Sunday at Vidant Medical Center. Mr. Rhodes retired from the U.S. Air Force with 21 years of service and was a member of the Wayne County VFW. He loved his family and was always helping and giving to others. He enjoyed fishing and Carolina basketball.
Funeral services will be held Friday at 2 p.m. at the chapel of Taylor-Tyson Funeral Service. A private interment will follow at the Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.
The surviving family includes his wife, Virginia Barrow Rhodes, of the home; sons, Keith Daniel Rhodes and wife, Christy, of Cary and Eddie Rhodes and wife, Mary Alice, of Winterville; a sister, Elda Beth Davidson and husband, Buddy, of Clarksville, Va.; brothers, Fredrick Rhodes and wife, Jean, of Grifton, Stuart Wayne Rhodes and wife, Anne-Marie Wray, of Virginia Beach, Danny Lee Rhodes and wife, Marsha, of Chester Va.; grandchildren, Brooks Rhodes, Laura Rhodes, Megan Rhodes and Erin Rhodes.
The family will receive friends Thursday, 6-8 p.m., at the funeral home and other times at the Rhodes residence. Online condolences may be expressed at www.taylor-tyson.com.
