WILSON -- Lessie P. Haynes, 86, died Thursday, Jan. 23, 2014, at WilMed Care Center.
Funeral services will be conducted in the chapel of Shingleton Funeral Home Monday, Jan. 27, at 11 a.m., with the Rev. Johnny Sullivan and the Rev. Bill Groce officiating. Interment will follow in Evergreen Memorial Park.
She was preceded in death by her husband, Jake Haynes; son, Dennis Haynes; brothers, Bill and Jay Pittman; and sisters, Shirley Pittman and Mazelle Bunn.
She is survived by her daughter, Lillie H. Delmastro and husband, Nickey, of South Port; son, J.V. Haynes III and wife, Nancy, of Stantonsburg; sisters, Bessie Pridgen of Wilson, Alice Turner of Wilson and Faye Taylor of Kenly; special friend, Lennie Bunn; and several nieces and nephews.
The family will receive friends one hour prior to the service Monday from 10 to 11 a.m.
