Christine Jones Norris, 74, passed away Tuesday at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.
Christine was born on Jan. 21, 1939, to the late William Herman Jones and Susan Rouse Thibadeau. She was married to the late Willie Thomas Norris. Christine worked with Standard Products and had formerly worked at R.G. Barry. She attended Bethel Church. Christine was a loving mother and grandmother and will be greatly missed.
Funeral services will be Thursday, Jan. 2, 2014, at 6 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Ralph Parker, the Rev. Gene Turner and the Rev. Steve Holder officiating. Burial will be Friday, Jan. 3, 2014, at 11 a.m. in Wayne Memorial Park.
Christine is survived by her daughters, Misty Norris Fischer and husband, Michael, of Montoursville, Penn., Kristy Norris Re and husband, Mario, of Pikeville and Tina Norris Frazier and husband, Josh, of Pikeville; sons, Michael Thigpen and wife, Pam, of Pikeville, Gary Thigpen and wife, Darlene, of Goldsboro; a stepdaughter, Donna Beasley and husband, Mike, of Coats; a stepson, Trent Norris of Dunn; a sister, Peggy Graham of Pikeville; a brother, William Jones of Elizabethtown; 17 grandchildren; and seven great-grandchildren.
In addition to her parents and husband, Christine was preceded in death by sisters, Barbara A. Jones and Virginia Sanderson; and her brother, Stephen Taylor.
The family will receive friends Thursday following the service of remembrance at Seymour Funeral Home.
