EDWARD 'TINK' LEE SMITH

Edward "Tink" Lee Smith, 93, passed away Monday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by his loving family.

Tink was born in Wayne County Oct. 10, 1920, to the late George and Dollie Smith.

He was a member of Woods Grove Pentecostal Free Will Baptist Church for 65 years.

Tink was a wonderful husband, father and grandfather. He will always be loved by his family, and will be greatly missed by those who knew him.

Tink was a lifelong member of the Hood Swamp community, and a retired farmer.

Funeral services will be held Tuesday, Dec. 31, 2013, at 2 p.m. in the chapel of Seymour Funeral Home, with the Rev. Barry Teague officiating. A private family burial will take place at Wayne Memorial Park.

Tink is survived by his loving wife, Norma Lee Howell Smith; son, George Norman Smith and wife, Laura, of Goldsboro; grandchildren, Tania Thompason, Pam Gray, Stacy Savage and Steve Smith; eight great-grandchildren; and a great-great-grandchild.

In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brothers, John R. Smith and James "Jimmy" P. Smith, and sister, Ada Mae Blake.

The family will receive friends Tuesday from 1 to 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, and at other times, at his home.

In lieu of flowers, the family suggests that memorials be made to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
