MICHAEL LAINE MURPHY

Michael Laine Murphy, 57, passed away Thursday, Dec. 26, 2013, at Vidant Medical Center in Greenville, N.C.
Michael was born in Shreveport, La., June 19, 1956, to Cecil Ray Murphy of Morehead City and the late Gail Bennett Murphy.
Murph was a true sportsman, most comfortable outdoors, on the water or in the woods. He was an avid Beatles fan, and loved rock-n-roll and going to concerts.
Murph always enjoyed telling a good story.
He worked as a salesman at various Leith Auto dealerships and as a photographer with Classic Images.
He is survived by his wife, Sandra Johnson Murphy; son, Eric Murphy and wife, Rebekah; sister, Malinda M. Sink and husband, Keith; nephews, Bennett Sink and Murphy Sink; and beloved golden retriever, Sugar.
Michael also grew up surrounded by loving aunts, uncles and cousins, and he loved his extended family.
In lieu of flowers, please make a donation in Michael's honor to The Wounded Warrior Project or the Wayne County SPCA.
A memorial service will be held to celebrate Michael's life Monday, Dec. 30, 2013, at 2 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home, Goldsboro, N.C.
