IDA COX STARLING

ROSE HILL -- Ida Cox Starling died Nov. 19, 2013, at New Hanover Regional Medical Center.

She was born Nov. 30, 1934, in Goldsboro, N.C., to Leslie James Cox and Annie Ruth Noble Cox.

Feb. 24, 1957, she married Maury Henry Starling.

Ida was a loving wife, mother and grandmother.

She was a registered nurse by profession, and worked at Rose Hill Animal Diagnostic Lab for 33 years.

She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband; a son, Jeff; and two brothers, Carl and Lloyd Cox.

Ida is survived by two sons, Steve Starling and wife, Nancy, and Ralph Starling and wife, Jan; daughter, Jennifer Ryan and husband, Marc; as well as her grandchildren, Lindsey Starling, Morgan Starling, Zachary Starling, Henry Ryan and Jack Ryan; as well as several nieces and nephews.

Ida was a longtime member of Rose Hill Baptist Church, where she taught children for many years.

She will be greatly missed by her family, her many friends and the community.

Funeral services will be 1 p.m. Friday, Nov. 22, 2013, at Rose Hill Baptist Church. Burial will follow at Rockfish Memorial Gardens.

Visitation will be 7 to 9 p.m. Thursday at Community Funeral Home of Rose Hill.

Memorials may be made to Hospitality House of Wilmington or the American Cancer Society.
