VIRGINIA 'GINNY' PITTMAN GORDON

Virginia "Ginny" Pittman Gordon, 92, of Morehead City, died Friday, Nov. 1, 2013.

Ginny was born in Grifton and raised in Kinston. She had been involved in catering and retail kitchen sales since the late 1950s. She was co-owner of Cooks Kitchen in Goldsboro and moved to Beaufort in 1982, where she founded Ginny Gordon's, a specialty retail kitchen store. She moved Ginny Gordon's to Morehead City in 1992, where it is presently located.

Ginny was honored as a life member of The Garden Club of North Carolina

Ginny was predeceased by her husband, Sidney Gordon, and her parents, Francis Marion Pittman and Eloise Quinn Pittman.

She is survived by her daughters, Michele Scalone Hyde and husband, James, of Hendersonville; Jennifer Gordon Morrison and husband, Leon, of Morehead City; and Robin Pittman Gordon of Morehead City.

She is also survived by her grandchildren, Jennifer Pate and Galloway Pate, and a great-granddaughter, Callie Gray Hinson.

Also surviving are her sister, Louise Pittman Lee of Robersonville, and her brother, Bob Pittman and wife, Claire, of Oriental

Services will be private.

In lieu of flowers, donations in her name may be made to The Elizabethan Gardens, 1411 National Park Drive, Manteo, NC 27954
