Mrs. Myrtle Langley Woodard, 88, Goldsboro, passed away Saturday, Nov. 2, at Wayne Memorial Hospital.

A graveside service will be held Wednesday at 3 p.m. at Princeton Cemetery.

She was born in Princeton, N.C., to the late Floyd and Sarah Langley.

Mrs. Woodard was a self-employed beautician for more than 50 years. During her career, she was a true friend, advisor and confidante to her customers.

She married her partner in life, Mark Woodard, March 17, 1946, and they had 61 wonderful years together until his death in 2007.

Mrs. Woodard enjoyed spending time at the North Carolina coast, fishing and playing cards with friends and family. All who knew her appreciated the lovingly prepared meals and special treats that she created in her kitchen.

In addition to her parents, she was predeceased by her stepfather, Charlie Daughtry; her sister, Ruby Howell; and brother, Thurman Langley.

She leaves to cherish her memory her son, Jerry M. Woodard and his wife, Lisa, of Greenville; three nieces; two nephews; several great-nieces and nephews; and also many cherished lifelong friends.

She is also survived by her extended Greenville, N.C., family, which includes four "grandsons," a "granddaughter," a "great-granddaughter" and her grandcat, Bo.

The family will receive friends Tuesday evening from 7 to 8:30 p.m. at Howell Funeral Home and Crematory in Goldsboro.
