WINTERVILLE -- Lewis Norman Cornwall, 77, died Wednesday, Oct. 16, 2013, at his home in Winterville, N.C.

Lewie, as he was known by friends and family, had battled Parkinson's disease for the past 12 years.

He was a man of many interests, including music, choral performance, photography and numismatics.

Having served nearly 27 years in the United States Air Force, Lewie retired with the rank of senior master sergeant in Goldsboro, N.C., in 1985.

He was a graduate of North Carolina State University, with a degree in history, and loved to tell stories.

Prior to leaving Goldsboro in 2007, he was a member of First Presbyterian Church, and a devoted choir member for almost 25 years.

Lewie is survived by his wife, Donna Early Cornwall of Winterville, N.C.; son, Gabe Cornwall of Charlotte, N.C.; sister, Barbara Decker of Milford, Del.; daughter, Samantha Cornwall Ansell of Taylor, Mich.; two grandchildren; and son, Ian Cornwall of Taylor, Mich.
