WENDELL -- Dennis Wayne Reaves, 50, Wendell, passed away suddenly Monday morning, Oct. 7, at his home.
A service to celebrate his life will be held Wednesday, Oct. 9, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home in Mount Olive, officiated by the Rev. Tim Reaves and the Rev. Richard Cuddington, and followed by visitation.
Committal and interment will be held Thursday, Oct. 10, at 11 a.m. in Maplewood Cemetery in Mount Olive.
Family and friends are being received at the home of his mother, Thelma Reaves, at 110 E. Park Ave., Mount Olive.
In lieu of flowers, the Reaves family prefers that memorial gifts be made to Jessica Reaves Special Needs Trust, c/o Edward Jones Co., 505 Oberlin Road, Suite 140, Raleigh, N.C., 27605.
Dennis, a native of Mount Olive and a 1981 graduate of Southern Wayne High School, had attended the Agricultural Institute at North Carolina State University, obtaining a degree in poultry science.
He was employed with the North Carolina Department of Agriculture as assistant program administrator for cooperative grading services.
He is survived by his wife, Jill Siebelink Reaves of the home; a son, Adam Wayne Reaves of Goldsboro; a daughter, Jessica Faith Reaves of the home; his mother, Thelma Brogden Reaves of Mount Olive; three brothers and sisters-in-law, Tom and Meg Reaves of Calypso, Wesley and Carol Reaves of Faison and Richard and Rena Reaves of Goldsboro; three sisters and brothers-in-law, Eva Jean and Delano Hill, Jim R. Herring and Connie and Stanley Outlaw all of Mount Olive; his mother-in-law, Elsie Siebelink of the home; another sister-in-law, Beth Overby of Wake Forest; another brother-in-law, Tim Siebelink of Cary; and numerous nieces and nephews.
Dennis was preceded in death by his father, Lloyd Wesley "Jack" Reaves.
