MOUNT OLIVE -- Cleone Bowden King, 81, Rones Chapel community, passed away Thursday morning, Sept. 26, 2013.

She had enjoyed a rewarding 30-year career at Wayne Memorial Hospital as a licensed practical nurse.

Also a farmer's wife and loving mother, she was a longtime member of Rones Chapel United Methodist Church.

Mrs. King is survived by three sons and daughters-in-law, Richard Kent and Lois King of Ohio, Durwood Bradley "Brad" and Jeanne King of Mount Olive and Randy Quinton and Gloria King of Mount Olive; three daughters and sons-in-law, Sherri and Jimmy Coley and Teresa and Vic Swinson all of Mount Olive and Guelda and David Hunt of Fayetteville; a brother, John Bowden of Dudley; a sister-in-law, Alma Bowden, formerly of Mount Olive, now of Charlotte; 14 grandchildren; nine great-grandchildren; and several nieces and nephews, to include a special nephew, Ray Brogden and his wife, Ellen, of Mount Olive.

She was preceded in death by her husband, Durwood Lee King; her parents, Willie and Mamie Davis Bowden; a brother, Carl Bowden; and two sisters, Pearl B. Brogden and Carrie Lou B. Asbill.

Services to honor the life of Mrs. King and to celebrate her memory will be held Saturday, Sept. 28, at 7 p.m. at Tyndall Funeral Home, with the Rev. Mike Whatley officiating, and followed by visitation. Burial will be at Wayne Memorial Park following a committal service held Sunday, Sept. 29, at 2 p.m.

Friends and relatives are also being received at her place of residence.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that memorial gifts be made to Rones Chapel Church, 138 Garner's Chapel Road, Mount Olive, N.C., 28365.
