CLYDE J. "PEANUT" SPICER

INDIAN SPRINGS -- Clyde James "Peanut" Spicer Jr., 63, Indian Springs community, Dudley, N.C., passed away suddenly Saturday morning, Sept. 14, 2013, at his home.

Services will be held by the graveside Tuesday, Sept. 17, at 11 a.m. at Holmes Cemetery in the Indian Springs community, with pastor Douglas Bartlett officiating.

Visitation will be at Tyndall Funeral Home Monday, Sept. 16, from 6 to 8 p.m.

Peanut was a native of Maryland.

He was a retired engine mechanic.

He is survived by his wife, Barbara Jean Smith Spicer; two sons, Christopher "Chris" Allen Spicer of the home and Paul Anthony Spicer of Texas; a brother, James Samuel Spicer Sr. of Frederick, Md.; three sisters, Betty Lou Langager of Stephen City, Va., and Helen Marie Corfman and Mary Sue Davison both of Frederick, Md.; a grandson, Craig Anthony Spicer; his "Mama" (mother-in-law), Ludie H. Smith of Mount Olive; and several nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his father, Clyde James Spicer; his mother, Mary Evelyn HIll Spicer Henshaw; stepfather, Howard Henshaw; and two brothers, William Ray Spicer and Ronnie Gene Spicer.
