RUTH ANN HOUSER HOOVER

Ruth Ann Houser Hoover, 93, passed away Sunday, Aug. 25, 2013, at her home.

Ruth was born in Lincoln County Dec. 28, 1919, to the late William Lee Houser and Ethel Childress Houser.

She was married Dec. 24, 1941, to the late Major Thomas R. Hoover Sr.

Along with her husband, they owned and operated a realty company in Goldsboro, Gallery of Homes.

Ruth was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends from 1 to 2 p.m. Wednesday, Aug. 28, 2013, at Seymour Funeral Home, followed by a service of remembrance at 2 p.m. in the chapel, with the Rev. Dr. Bob Fulkerson officiating. Interment will be in Evergreen Memorial Cemetery.

Ruth is survived by her sons, Thomas R. Hoover Jr. and wife, Carol, of Emerald Isle and Garry H. Hoover and wife, Sabrina, of Raleigh; daughter, Brenda H. Noah and husband, Robert, of Dunnellon, Fla.; grandchildren, Thomas R. Hoover III and wife, Amy, Abbey N. Smith and husband, Jason, Rachelle M. Hoover-Plonk and husband, Warren, Christopher S. Hoover and Madeleine D. Hoover; and great-grandchildren, Samantha R. Hoover, Katelyn D. Hoover, Clara W. Smith, Rowan G. Smith and Madeline M. Plonk.

She is also survived by two sisters, Pauline Beam, and Madge Kean.

In addition to her husband and parents, she was preceded in death by a son, Richard D. Hoover and wife, Diane.

In lieu of flowers, memorials may be given in her memory to the American Macular Degeneration Foundation, P.O. Box 515, Northampton, Mass., 01061-0515.
