THELMA B. DANIELS

Early Saturday morning at Kitty Askins Hospice Center, God decided to bring home Thelma Brogden Daniels, 83, and add her beautiful smile to Heaven.

A service to celebrate her life will be held Monday at 2 p.m. at Shumate-Faulk Funeral Home with the Rev. Jim Willoughby officiating. Burial will follow in Wayne Memorial Park.

Born in Wayne County, she was the daughter of the late Ed and Pearl Potter Brogden. Retired from Barry of Goldsboro, she was a member of Emmaus Baptist Church, where she served on the board of deacons and was a Sunday school teacher.

She is survived by two sons, Jerry M. Daniels of Dudley, Dennis "Mullet Head" Daniels and his wife, Rose, of Goldsboro; two daughters, Vicky Sauls and her husband, David, of Patetown, Faye Perkins and her husband, Jimmy, of Goldsboro; one brother, John H. Brogden and his wife, Emma "Lady" Brogden, of Goldsboro; a sister-in-law, Peggy Lambert; 11 grandchildren; eight great-grandchildren; and one step-great-grandchild.

She was preceded in death by her husbands, Maxwell Daniels, Jack Gilmer Harrell and L.J. Daniels; and her daughter-in-law, Cathy Best Hernandez.

The family will greet friends Sunday evening from 7 until 9 p.m. at the funeral home and at other times at the home of her daughter, Vicky and David Sauls, 112 Brighton Drive, Goldsboro, N.C., 27530.

In lieu of flowers, memorial gifts may be directed to Kitty Askins Hospice Center, 107 Handley Park Court, Goldsboro, N.C., 27532.
