Louise Pittman Waddell, 92, went to be with her Lord Wednesday, March 27, 2013, at Kitty Askins Hospice Center surrounded by her family.

Louise was born in Wayne County April 29, 1920, to the late Needham Matthew Pittman and Lanie Louise Underwood Pittman.

She was a member of Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, and was a former member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church.

Louise loved sharing her story of how she and Raymond met and the love they shared together.

In more recent years, she enjoyed the company of her husband and many friends in her retirement community at The Pines.

She was a wonderful wife, mother and grandmother. Louise will always be loved by her children, and will be greatly missed by those who knew her.

Funeral services will be held Saturday, March 30, 2013, at 10 a.m. at Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church, with the Rev. Gary Bailey and the Rev. Barry Williamson officiating. Entombment will follow in the mausoleum at Wayne Memorial Park.

Louise is survived by the love of her life and husband of 67 years, Raymond Arthur Waddell.

She is also survived by her children, Bonnie W. Bundy of Goldsboro and Gerald Ray Waddell and wife, Patricia, of Goldsboro; sister, Helen Tyson of Fayetteville; four grandchildren, Frank Bundy, Amber B. Harris and husband, Jonathan, Diana W. Jeffers and husband, Jeremy, and Matthew Waddell; and a great-grandchild, Elle Chandler Harris.

In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her brother and sisters, Willard Pittman, Minnie Pierce, Olive Edwards, Audrey Hinnant, Sallie Morris and Fannie Nichols.

The family will receive friends Friday, March 29, 2013, from 7 to 9 p.m. at Seymour Funeral Home.

We would like to give a very special thank you to the wonderful staff at Kitty Askins Hospice Center for the love and care it provided for Louise during her final days. Simple words cannot express our gratitude.

Also a thank you to the caregivers at the Pines and the Brian Center, who cared for Louise over these past years.

Flowers are welcome or memorials may be given in memory of Louise to Stoney Creek Free Will Baptist Church Building Fund, 752 Stoney Creek Church Road, Goldsboro, N.C., 27534.
