Edward Douglas "Doug" Smith, 71, passed away Thursday, March 7, 2013.
Visitation will be from 4 until 6 p.m. today at Barr-Price Funeral Home and Crematorium, Historic B-L Chapel. Burial will be at a later date in Goldsboro.
Born in Pitt County, he was the son of the late William Elmo and Sallie Dixon Smith. He was a member of Madison Avenue Baptist Church, an Air Force veteran and had retired from the tobacco industry with 20 years of service.
Survivors include his wife, Dr. Lynda Anderson Smith; and his sisters, Sara Frances Boyette of Sisters, Ore., Martha Kay Jones of Raleigh, and Mary Ann Drum of Knoxville, Tenn.
